Many consider it the best laptop Apple ever made. The 14-inch MacBook Pro combines brute force with the perfect size for on the go. With the stunning Liquid Retina XDR display, the return of HDMI & SD card reader, and the powerful Apple Silicon chips, this is every professional's dream.
The 14-inch Pro at a glance
The 14-inch MacBook Pro marked a revolution. Apple listened to its users: the Touch Bar disappeared, physical ports returned, and the screen got a huge upgrade (Mini-LED). But which generation should you choose?
- Best for: 90% of professionals. Best value for money.
- Performance: Still extremely powerful for video & code.
- Screen: The same fantastic 120Hz XDR display as newer models.
- SSD: Often faster base storage than the M2 entry-level models.
- Best for: Those who need HDMI 2.1 (8K displays) or WiFi 6E.
- Performance: Approx. 20% faster than M1, especially in graphics.
- Battery: Slightly more efficient, lasts up to an hour longer.
- Future: Slightly longer software updates (logically).
- Best for: 3D rendering, gaming, and maximum specs.
- Technology: Hardware Ray Tracing & Dynamic Caching.
- Brightness: Screen can be even brighter in normal daylight.
- Color: Introduction of the "Space Black" color (fingerprint-proof).
Why 14-inch and not 13-inch?
The difference is enormous. The 14-inch has an XDR display (much better contrast and black levels), a 1080p webcam (instead of 720p), and many more ports (HDMI, SD, 3x Thunderbolt). Additionally, the base chip (M1/M2/M3 Pro) is much more powerful than the standard M1/M2 in the 13-inch models. Choose 14-inch if you want the best display and most connectivity.
