Is a refurbished iPhone 13 the same as a second-hand iPhone?
Nope! A refurbished iPhone is not the same as a second-hand iPhone. Where a second-hand iPhone is offered for sale by the user himself, a refurbished iPhone involves much more. Refurbished iPhones have been thoroughly inspected on all important points of use. Does the microphone still work perfectly? Do the buttons work? What about the screen? Is the battery of sufficient quality?
Where necessary, parts were repaired or replaced. All data was then cleaned and iOS was reinstalled. This gives the future owner a fresh start. And after a thorough cleaning, the refurbished iPhone is put in a nice box, equipped with charging accessories and ready to be delivered to your home! What about the warranty on refurbished products?
Another difference between second-hand and refurbished: There is no warranty on a second-hand iPhone, while a refurbished iPhone from leapp always comes with a two-year warranty – on both the device and the battery. This way, we know for sure that you will enjoy your iPhone to the fullest!
Is refurbished sustainable?
Refurbished Apple products are a lot more sustainable than new iPhones. That's because producing a new iPhone uses a lot of raw materials. Did you know that it takes 23kg of ore, 20.5 grams of cyanide, 10 grams of plastic and 100 liters of water to produce an average iPhone? Oh yeah, and 79kg of C02 is also released during the production and distribution process.
When reusing existing iPhones, all these valuable raw materials do not have to be mined from the earth again. By extending the lifespan of Apple products in this way, we prevent the demand for all these raw materials from ever increasing. A lot more sustainable than new!
