Looking for the difference between the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xr ? We've taken a close look at both models for you. We've listed our findings below, so you can hopefully find the answers to your questions.
iPhone X s vs <a href=" https:> iPhone Xr ">
LCD vs OLED
The first major difference we're going to look at is the screen. The iPhone Xr has a Liquid Retina LCD screen and the Xs has a Super Retina OLED screen. The OLED screen is a bit better with its higher resolution and HDR display. Thanks to HDR, you can see more colors and the contrast between the colors is a lot higher, giving you more beautiful and realistic images. However, you don't have to get the Xs specifically for the screen. The screen of the iPhone Xr is simply of good quality and most people will be very happy with it. If you really want the best of the best, then the screen of the Xs is better suited for you.
How many lenses do you need?
Both iPhones are great for taking photos. The only question is, how much quality do you need? The iPhone Xs is equipped with two cameras and the Xr has only one camera on the back. You notice the difference between these two models, for example, when zooming in. For example, the Xs can zoom in optically (zooming without loss of quality) and the Xr can only zoom in digitally (with loss of quality). You also notice the difference when you want to take a portrait photo. With the Xr, this is done using software, while the Xs needs this much less because the dual lens can better distinguish between the foreground and background.
Appearance
The iPhone X series currently comes in three different screen sizes. The iPhone Xr is 6.1 inches, the Xs is 5.8 inches and the Xs Max is 6.5 inches. The size of a phone is a choice you have to weigh up for yourself, one person wants a compact smartphone and another a large one. Furthermore, the iPhone Xr is available in many fresh colors and the Xs series only in the standard colors: space gray, silver and gold. There is also a small difference in weight, the iPhone Xr weighs 194 grams and the Xs weighs 177 grams or 208 grams for the Max. We also see that the aluminum edge of the Xr is slightly wider than the shiny stainless steel edge of the iPhone Xs.
Other details
We have just discussed the biggest differences, but there are also a few small differences. For example, the iPhone Xr comes with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB of storage, while the Xs has replaced 128GB with 512GB. Furthermore, the Xr has the longest battery life of 15 hours when using the internet, compared to 12 hours for the Xs and 13 hours for the Xs Max. You can charge the iPhone Xs both wirelessly and with an adapter, while the iPhone Xr can only be charged with an adapter. We also see that the iPhone Xs comes with 4GB of RAM, which allows you to quickly switch between apps and start apps faster than the 3GB of RAM found in the Xr.
One of the last differences to consider is that the Xs has a pressure-sensitive screen. With 3D Touch, you can perform other actions by pressing harder on the screen. The Xr, on the other hand, has Haptic Touch, with which you have to press longer, which gives you a slight vibration to perform a special action. Finally, we see that the Xs is more water resistant than the Xr.
So, those were all the notable differences between the iPhone Xs and Xr models. In many ways, the iPhone Xs trumps the iPhone Xr. Better screen, better camera, faster. But, ask yourself if those are really things that you care about, because they do come with a higher price tag.
