Choosing the right iPhone can be tricky. Are you hesitating between an iPhone 11 or an iPhone XS ?
To make it a bit easier for you, we have listed the notable differences for you.
Price
There is a significant price difference between the devices, around 90 euros in favor of the iPhone XS .
Display
The iPhone 12 has a larger screen of 6.1" than the iPhone XS, which has a 5.8" display. The iPhone XS, on the other hand, has better image quality because an OLED screen is used, while the iPhone XS has a (otherwise excellent) LCD screen. In addition, the resolution (the number of pixels) of the XS is much higher (2436 x 1125 pixels) than the 11 (1792 x 828 pixels). The contrast value of the XS (thanks to that OLED screen) is also much better (1,000,000:1) than the 11, which "only" manages 1400:1. More contrast equals a better image. The iPhone 11 has more screen edges (bezels), where the screen of the XS extends further to the edge (we think that's nicer).
Both iPhones have the functionality to log in via Face ID . This means that the camera recognizes your face and based on that gives access to your iPhone and your apps.
Chips
The iPhone 11 features Apple's own A13 bionic chip, where the XS features the A12 Bionic chip. This means that the iPhone 11 is about 9 to 10% faster with very demanding apps.
Camera
Both iPhones have 2 lenses and feature 2x optical zoom, with the XS having dual optical image stabilization and 10x digital zoom. The iPhone 11 has single optical image stabilization and 5x digital zoom. On the front, the iPhone 11 performs better with its 12MP camera. The XS is stuck at 7MP.
Battery
The iPhone 11 has a (slightly) better battery than the XS. User tests show that an iPhone 11 lasts about 75 minutes longer on a battery charge than the XS. Both iPhones support wireless charging (and of course via a wire via the lightning connector)
Sound
Both iPhones support spatial audio and Dolby Atmos.
Storage
The iPhone XS comes in 64, 256, and 512GB, while the 11 comes in 64, 128, and 256GB.
SIM card
Both devices support dual SIM (two SIM cards , for example business and private) via the combination of nano SIM and eSIM .
Dimensions
The iPhone XS is smaller and lighter than the iPhone 11. For comparison (height x width x depth) the iPhone XS measures 143.6mm x 70.9mm x 7.7mm, while the iPhone 11 measures 150.9mm x 75.7mm by 8.3mm.
Weight
The iPhone XS is about 20 grams lighter (177 grams) than the iPhone 11 at 194 grams.
Overall, the iPhone 11 is slightly faster and has a slightly longer battery life than the XS. On the other hand, the iPhone XS is smaller, has significantly better display quality, and is considerably less expensive.
