How to take a screenshot on iPhone?
The steps to take a screenshot on your iPhone are simple. Depending on your iPhone model, the steps to take a screenshot are slightly different:
iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, 4s, 5, 5c and 5s
For owners of older iPhone models, including iPhone 3G to iPhone 5s, taking a screenshot is quite easy. Follow the steps below for a successful result:
- Go to the image on your iPhone that you want to capture.
- Now hold the power button on top of the device and simultaneously press the home button (the round button on the front of the device).
- Quickly release both buttons to take a screenshot.
- When pressed, you will see the screen flash and a short sound will be heard to indicate that your screenshot was successful.
iPhone with Touch ID
For iPhones equipped with Touch ID , such as certain versions of the iPhone 6 through iPhone 8 or a refurbished Phone SE , the method for taking screenshots is a little different. Here are the steps you'll need to follow:
- Go to the image on your iPhone that you want to capture.
- Now hold the power button on the right side of the device and simultaneously press the home button (the round button on the front of the device).

iPhone with notch/FaceID
For iPhones with a "notch" or cutout in the display and Face ID functionality, such as the iPhone X refurbished , iPhone 13 refurbished and later models, you need a different combination of buttons to take a screenshot. Follow these steps:

- Now hold the power button and simultaneously press the top volume button on the left.
- Quickly release both buttons to take a screenshot.
- When pressed, you will see the screen flash and a short sound will be heard to indicate that your screenshot was successful.
Where can I find the screenshot?
After you take a screenshot, a thumbnail of the image will appear in the lower left corner of the screen. You can tap it to edit or share it. You can wait for it to disappear and the screenshot will be saved to the Photos app under the "Screenshots" album. You can find your newly taken screenshot in your iPhone's Photos app. If your Photos app is organized with separate albums, the screenshot will automatically be saved to the "Screenshot" album.
How do I edit my screenshots?
Since the arrival of iOS 11, the possibilities you have with taking screenshots have been greatly expanded.
