No more WhatsApp on older iPhone models from November

Why will I no longer be able to use WhatsApp?
Whatsapp has not announced why the older models will no longer be supported. However, it is suspected that this has to do with security reasons. This was the reason for the exclusion of certain, older operating systems in an update in January 2021. Previous updates have also shown that Whatsapp does this approximately every year, so keep that in mind when you are going to buy a new phone!

Tips to keep WhatsApping
Are you afraid that your phone will no longer support Whatsapp? Then check which version of iOS your iPhone is running. You can do this by going to settings > general > software update in your iPhone. Here you can immediately download a new version if it is available!
Are you switching to a new phone to continue using WhatsApp? Then first save your chat history in iCloud. You can save your chat history in your iCloud by opening WhatsApp > Settings > Chats > Backup chats > Make backup now. Once you have done this, a copy of all your active chats will be saved in your personal iCloud. If you then download WhatsApp on your new phone and log in with your iCloud account, all your chats will be automatically reloaded. Please note that you must do this before November 1, 2021! There is a very good chance that you will no longer be able to access your chats in WhatsApp after November 1. This means that you will no longer be able to make a backup.
